Benefits of Recycling

Benefits of Recycling

Recycling is the process of reprocessing used and unused materials and making them available to consumers. The materials used in recycling cover a very wide area, from waste water to oil, according to the possibilities available. However, the products that are generally recycled are items such as plastic bottles, car tires, paper, glass pieces, batteries, metal pieces. These materials are turned into raw materials in recycling factories and new products are produced from these raw materials. This entire process is called the recycling process.

Recycling has two types of contribution, environmental and economic. The most important contribution among its economic contributions is undoubtedly the prevention of waste. Thanks to recycling, waste materials are prevented from being wasted and reusable products are produced. Recycling prevents problems such as the transportation or storage of waste materials and garbage and helps to reduce raw material consumption. Recycling, which prevents waste materials from being a problem for the society in crowded populated areas, prevents unnecessary energy consumption, while opening a new business line, providing employment and reducing unemployment. As the last economic contribution of recycling, the raw material brought from abroad is obtained in the recycling of imported products, and this ensures a great reduction in import costs.

The environmental contributions of recycling are also substantial and important. Thanks to recycling, wood, mineral and water resources are protected. The need for raw materials for the production of consumer products is reduced, which reduces the destruction of nature. It contributes to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, such as carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O), hydrofluoride carbons (HFCs), perfluoro carbons (PFCs), sulfurhexa fluoride (SF6), to nature. The biggest battle for us with greenhouse gases is the oxygen sources found in nature. Forests produce 20% of the oxygen in nature. Therefore, paper recycling has a very important place in order to prevent tree cutting. That's why protection products like gussets are made from recycled cardboard. In addition, packaging and packaging boxes, toilet and bath papers, various notebooks and books are also obtained from recycled paper, thus preventing unnecessary destruction of forests.
